How YouTube helped me…

We have been YouTubers for 3 whopping years but why on earth do we still keep posting? There are of course a few reasons. Before we dig deeper into that, let’s look at the history of our channel. As we sat around, talking, one of us had the idea of making a YouTube channel. The next day our father created the channel for us. The day was March 25, 2019. On that very day, I posted my very first video. It was a LEGO building tutorial named Lego Humanoid Tutorial.”

My dad shared it everywhere, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. We gained hundreds of subscribers through his marketing, for which I am very grateful. We started posting videos as frequently as we could, making videos on everything we love. But as always, we evolved. Like a caterpillar turns into a butterfly. We developed from the beginners we were to the people we are now. Posting videos helped me in Speech, Editing, and even a few things outside of YouTube.

Speech:

#Hesitation

I used to hesitate before I say something which gives an “I don’t know what I am saying” feeling to it. Indeed it was cute when I was little but as I grew older I had to improve my videos, hence I started here.

#Filler words

As a beginner, I used a use a lot of um’s and uh’s. This makes the video distracting and challenging to understand. As I started to speak on videos more often, I started to slowly eliminate them from my speech.

#Confidence

I have improved in confidence hugely. When I started, the talking in front of the camera. The deep stare of the camera made my blood run cold. Nowadays I am well confident

Editing:

#Evolution

I had started, editing our YouTube videos on iMovie, using an iPad. The pros of using iMovie was that it was simple, sufficient, and easily learned. For a beginner it was amazing but I had to improve my editing.

I moved on to making magic videos using Kinemaster, which helped me grasp the basics of the software. However, it was also very complicated and had many features. So how did I learn it if I couldn’t even make heads or tails of it? Simple, repetition. I had worked on it so often that I was able to make professional-looking videos in just 3 days. If you wish to see a good example of it CLICK THIS.

But as we all know, there is no limit to learning.

Learn continually – there’s always “one more thing” to learn!

– Steve Jobs

I had gotten a laptop for my birthday (Thanks to my Aunt!). I was aware of the many possibilities of a computer which an iPad is unable to do. And so I closed the book of Kinemaster and started to read another. The software I am learning is named Filmora 12. It is wonderful but like a vast sky, there’s still more to explore.

Outside of YouTube:

#Schedules

I have learned that planning is vital. The same way warriors have to sharpen their swords before the war. I always have a script before I make videos. This helps me a lot when I forget words. This also improves my confidence, knowing if I forget, I can just look into my script.

#Design Art

I have to make thumbnails for videos, which requires me to make them. As always I developed them over time.

Now have I convinced you to start a YouTube channel? It’s a very fun ride and one you won’t forget. You could learn and improve your speech, editing, and even beyond YouTube! But whether you make it or not… Subscribe to me. It helps a lot.
