Filmora 12
What is Filmora 12? Filmora 12 is a video editing software, easy to use, and hard to hate. Filmora has over 800+ effects and supports 50+ formats and is beginner friendly. Let me explain how.
I have edited videos through three different, popular softwares. Namely, iMovie, Kinemaster, and Filmora 12. Here’s why I prefer Filmora 12 over them.
iMovie
iMovie is a very good starter editing software that provides the basic essential needs for a simple editor. My only complaint is that it has fewer effects, titles, and editing advantages on mobile and even on PC, it is possibly too easy.
Why does it being “too easy” affect me? I usually like softwares that you can improve over time yet still is beginner friendly. An example of such software would be Kinemaster. One of my favorite video editing software. But why did I quit it to go for Filmora 12?
Kinemaster
Kinemaster must be the best video editing software I stumbled upon. In my prime, I could have edited such professional-looking videos that you could never tell that it was edited in Kinemaster. So if I was so good, why did I leave it?
Just like a staircase, to move up to your goal, you should take steps up. Just because you like a step doesn’t mean you should stay there. Then you won’t reach your goal. Well, to be a bit honest, I was bored of Kinemaster and since I saw many people using Filmora, I decided to give it a try.
- Why I prefer Filmora 12
Filmora 12 has so many effects, stock footage, and text styles. It was probably the video editor I learned too quickly and easily. It took me around 2 years to perfect my skill in Kinemaster but it only took me 6 months to be good at Filmora. I think if I use Filmora for another 6 months, my skill would reach a level of professionalism.
- The downside of Filmora.
The only thing that annoys me in Filmora is that if you don’t pay, there’s legit a watermark bigger than the entire universe on your screen. For some reason that bugs me more than my brother. And that means it bugs me A LOT.
Removing the watermark either requires a monthly subscription or a permanent subscription, both costing a great deal of money.
Grammarly
If you search for “What is Grammarly” on the web, you get a huge load of corporate words very hard to understand. Like this: “Cross-platform cloud-based writing assistant”. “Cross-Platform” means that this tool can be operated on Windows, Linux, Mac, etc. “Cloud-Based” simply means that it can be operated in a browser and doesn’t need an app.
- Why do I use Grammarly?
Humans make mistakes but do bots do? I think not and they are being generous and helping us fix our mistakes rather than taking over the world. As I am a human, I also make mistakes and I am grateful to Grammarly for helping me fix them.
- What do I use Grammarly for?
I use Grammarly for Substack. Which you are currently reading. My Substack goes through 3 drafts.
First I write my essay on paper after a long time of thinking about it.
Second, I write my essay, word for word, on Substack with no care for spelling mistakes and design.
Third and final, I add the images, design, and spelling mistakes. For the spelling mistakes I just use Grammarly for it instead of fixing them myself.
